Knowing how to block a reader on Kasamba is an important piece of platform literacy that many users don't learn until they need it urgently. Blocking is the right action when an advisor has made you feel uncomfortable, when a reader has repeatedly made claims that felt manipulative or fear-based, when you've been pressured to purchase additional services, or when you simply want to ensure you never accidentally engage with a specific reader again. Kasamba's block feature prevents an advisor from contacting you and removes them from the list of readers presented to you in the interface. It does not notify the advisor that they've been blocked, which protects you from any awkward or retaliatory communication.
Step-by-Step Guide

Log in to your Kasamba account and navigate to your reading history. Kasamba maintains a record of every advisor you've ever had a session with. Locate the advisor you want to block by name or by scrolling your history.

Go to the advisor's profile page. You can reach it from your reading history by clicking on the advisor's name or photo, or by searching for them in the main directory.

On the advisor's profile page, look for the three-dot menu (ellipsis icon) or the 'More Options' button, typically located near the top of the profile or alongside the contact options. Clicking this reveals a dropdown that includes 'Block This Advisor' or 'Block User.'

Confirm the block when prompted. Kasamba will ask you to confirm before completing the action. Once confirmed, the advisor is added to your blocked list and will no longer be able to initiate contact with you through Kasamba's messaging system.

If you want to report the advisor in addition to blocking them—particularly if they made medically harmful claims, issued threats, or pressured you repeatedly—use the 'Report' option in the same dropdown before or after blocking. Reports go to Kasamba's trust and safety team and trigger a review of the advisor's conduct.

If a Kasamba reader has sent you unsolicited messages promoting their services after a single session, that's a reportable behavior. Use both the block and report functions together—blocking without reporting allows the reader to continue the behavior with other clients.
Kasamba's blocking system is one-directional: you block the advisor, not vice versa. Blocking does not prevent you from viewing their public profile in the directory, but it does prevent them from initiating contact with you.
After blocking an advisor, Kasamba may still show you their name in your reading history (as a record of past sessions), but they'll be flagged as blocked. Your history records are preserved for your own reference.
